People - Systems Engineering Department
While being a relatively new department, the NPS SE Department has established itself to be ranked higher than several older and more established national programs, placing the university’s youthful SE curriculum amongst the strongest in the nation. Tenured, tenure-track and some pf the non-tenure track faculty members hold Ph.D. degrees in systems engineering, operations research, naval architecture and marine engineering, mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering. Many faculty members have wide industry or military experience including service at four branches of the U.S. Armed Forces). SE Faculty are members and serve on a variety of boards of the fellows of International Council on Systems Engineering, Institute for Operations Research and Management Sciences, United States Naval Institute, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
